A Few Odds and Ends - January 8

RRROLL UP THE RIM TO WIN

First on my list, I found this funny little picture on a Facebook group called... "Maybe Next Year..." I'm pretty sure you can guess which team this group is about without even look at the picture. This is the classic "Roll Up The Rim To Win" contest at Tim Hortons that happens every year. If you can't read the rim because its too small it says "Please Play Again Next Year". Okay now that you look at the picture... you obviously now know it was the Leafs...If you couldn't catch on.
ALLSTAR STARTING LINE-UPS
The starting line ups for the 2008 NHL All Star Game in Atlanta, GA. have been announced. For the Eastern Conference, its a pretty good line up, but there's two things leaving me scratching my head. Who in the right mind voted Alfredsson into the starting line up when clearly Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza should be. The next thing is Zdeno Chara?! When I hear this I was like WTF?! Tomas Kaberle is a better defenceman than Chara. So anyways the Starting line for the East is... Sidney Crosby(PIT), Daniel Alfredsson(OTT) and thank god Vinny Lecavalier(TBL). The Defence is Andrei Markov(MTL)...who I voted for and Zdeno Chara(BOS). In Net is Martin Brodeur(NJD)... well that never gets old. Now for the West. This line-up makes soo much more sense than the East. Dominated by the Calgary Flames and Detroit Red Wings. Forwards are Henrik Zetterberg(DET), Pavel Datsyuk(DET) ...again who I voted for, and Jarome Iginla(CGY). D-men are Dion Phaneuf(CGY)...again I voted, and Nicklas Lidstrom(DET). Net minding, from Van City is no other than Roberto Luongo(VAN).

ALL STAR JERSEYS
Again in the All-Star game they will be using the RBK Edge jerseys. Well that was pretty much obvious, considering they are league wide now and they were used last year for trial. I Personally think the front part is weird. You'll notice the 'C' is on the right side..well in the picture its on the left. The Eastern Conference logo is removed and they just wrote "EAST" in fancy letters. Underneith the logo, is the players number. This reminds me kind of Dallas's basketball style jersey with the number below the logo.
